St Matthew’s Church, Darley Abbey

St Matthew’s Church (Church of England) is set at the heart of the historic village of Darley Abbey which is now a suburb on the north side of the City of Derby. The church stands on the hill looking down towards the River Derwent, the Mill and the old centre of the village. We are linked with St Edmund’s Church, Allestree, just across the A38. Our churches are more than just beautiful buildings – they are living communities. Regular worship, on Sunday and during the week, brings together a diverse community – we aim for worship done well, with good music and thoughtful preaching. There are opportunities to study, opportunities for friendship – coffee mornings and social events. We welcome baptisms, weddings and funerals, seeking to serve our community, and beyond. We try and do all this in the name of Jesus, to welcome all in God’s name. St Matthew’s is OPEN for visitors on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, from 2 until 4 pm. The kettle should be on, and you will be very welcome.

Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals can be found under the WORSHIP tab.

The Fellowship Room, which is available for hire, can be found under the ACTIVITIES tab.
